We also provide a wide variety of cardiac investigations and treatments at the Duchy Hospital, including:
- ECG (heart tracing)
- Non-invasive prolonged ECG monitoring (1 day, 3 days, and 1 week)
- Invasive prolonged ECG monitoring (implantable loop recorder “ILR”)
- Transthoracic echocardiogram (ultrasound scanning of the heart)
- Transoesophageal echocardiogram (ultrasound probe passed down your oesophagus “gullet” to take the more detailed pictures of your heart)
- Blood pressure monitoring
- Invasive coronary angiogram (catheter investigation for coronary artery disease)
- Invasive coronary angioplasty (catheter treatment for coronary artery disease with stents)
- Pacemaker implantation
- Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator implantation (ICD)
- Subcutaneous Implantable Defibrillator implantation (S-ICD) -Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy Device implantation (CRT )
- Exercise tolerance testing
